SharkBite 2 Game Modes

Public SharkBite 2 lobbies do not only run Standard. Voting and event servers rotate modes that steal your boat, invert the timer, or turn victims into extra sharks. Playing Extraction like Standard is how you watch a helicopter leave without you. This page is the mode manual. Pair it with getting started and the maps page.

Standard

One shark, everyone else on chosen boats, 10-second head start, timer win for survivors, wipe win for the shark. This is the mode the survive and shark playbooks assume. Bring your real hull. Farm Teeth here when you are broke — see how to get Teeth.

Viral Infection

Same start as Standard, but eaten players become extra sharks. The first time you survive this mode you can earn a badge. Survivor strategy shifts from “hide until the timer” to “do not feed the snowball.” Killing the original shark is not a full win if three converts are still loose. Shark strategy shifts from gourmet hunting to creating teammates. If you hate this mode, leave before the vote locks; once you are a convert, you are playing the shark controls whether you wanted to or not.

Pass the Bomb

A bomb hovers over one boat and will destroy it when the fuse ends. Touch another boat to pass the bomb. The shark is still in the water. This mode punishes clumps and rewards mean positioning — park next to a Titanic if you are on a jet ski. Do not invite randoms onto a bombed hull. Builder showpieces with no agility become bomb magnets. The boat tier list still matters because you must both flee the shark and flee the fuse.

Oil Rig Survival

The sequel’s cousin of Classic Stranded. Survivors spawn on a large rig with no personal yacht fantasy. The shark can smash pieces of the structure. A shorter timer and extraction-style helicopters can appear depending on the variant. Vertical shooting is the whole skill. Bring a gun you can aim down from weapons. If you fall in, you are a red rhombus in a swimming pool with a predator. Islands on the open-ocean map will not save you; you are not on that map.

Extraction

You do not win when the timer hits zero. A Chinook-style helicopter arrives for a short window. Climb in or the shark wins. Ego kills — staying to finish a 2,900 HP Meg while the rotors leave — are the classic fail. Assign one player to call the bird. Drive toward the pickup before the timer, not after. Shark Cage

No boat picker. You start in a cage that lowers into the water. You can swim out without the usual oxygen panic. Stall or kill. The cage is cover until it is debris. This is a gunfight and a nerve test, not a Wildfire advertisement. Cheap accurate guns (Rifle, Harpoon) feel better than novelty launchers.

Event servers

Egg Hunt and seasonal shops sometimes use a dedicated button on the main menu instead of a vote. Those servers overlay collectibles on Lobby and Ocean. They are not a seventh combat mode so much as a scavenger layer. Follow events so you do not spend a combat kit on an egg server or vice versa.

Picking a mode on purpose

If you are farming Teeth, prefer Standard. If you are learning shark powers, Standard or Viral. If you are testing a builder turret, Standard — Oil Rig will not spawn your Frigate. If you want badges, Viral. If you want chaos, Bomb. If you want to practice aim, Cage or Rig.
