SharkBite 2 How to Play as the Shark
Turn the assigned role into a full lobby wipe instead of a target dummy.
The first time SharkBite 2 assigns you the shark, a short overlay explains the stick and the boost. It does not explain patience. New sharks sprint at the nearest Ducky, eat two magazines, and die with half the lobby still sailing. This page is the rest of the tutorial.
You cannot queue as shark on demand. When the role lands, treat it as a resource. A clean wipe pays better than a tourist lap. Pair this playbook with the shark tier list and the shark catalog.
Movement model
The shark creeps forward on its own. WASD or the mobile stick steer. Space or the green arrow boosts for a few seconds, then cools down. Underwater you are faster than almost every boat in a straight sprint. On the surface you are a bigger hitbox. Dive to reposition. Surface only to ram or bite.
Boost is not a hold-forever sprint. Tap it to close a jet ski or to escape a mine field. Holding boost in front of three Thompsons is how Great White players donate Teeth.
Reading the HUD
Moving boats show a blue propeller. Players in the water show a red rhombus. Empty wrecks are noise. Chase propellers that are isolated, not the blob of five yachts dumping rockets into one tile. A red icon is free food if you can arrive before they climb a rock.
Your health bar sits at the top. Mines and guns chunk it. If you are below a third and the timer is healthy, disengage, eat a swimmer, and come back. Dead sharks give survivors the round.
Target priority
- Solo swimmers and broken hulls.
- Slow large boats that cannot turn — Canal, Cruise, Titanic, Aircraft Carrier.
- Isolated mid boats whose gunner is reloading.
- Fast jet skis last, unless they are already wounded.
Do not start the round by announcing yourself on the fastest boat. Circle the map during the last seconds of the head start, pick a victim, and commit. The maps page helps you use pipe spawn and island shadows.
Rams versus bites
Ramming destroys hulls. Biting kills people. A common fail is to nibble a yacht that still has four shooters on deck. Break the boat first, then clean swimmers. Conversely, do not ram a jet ski that you can simply intercept — you will overshoot and eat a mine.
Hitboxes on some sharks, especially huge ones like Megalodon, feel worse at picking individual swimmers. If bites whiff, use a glancing ram on the rock they climbed or wait for them to panic-swim.
Powers and the long shop
The power list is a second progression next to species:
- Boost — free, learn the cooldown first.
- Cold Blooded (250) — hide from radar buoys.
- Ghost (750) — transparency for ambushes.
- Radar (1,500) — see nearby players; this is the first “I am actually hunting” buy.
- Armour (3,000) — 50% damage reduction when you must face a warship.
- Clone / Double Clone — confusion, not extra brains. You still steer the real body.
- Shout — yeets boats. Hilarious, easy to waste.
- Black Hole — late-game pull for stacks of mid boats.
Buy Radar before cosmetic shark skins. Skins do not add health. Species do. Great White is free and honest. Bull Shark is cheap and small. Hammerhead is the first “I belong here” tank. Mako is a knife. Orca and Meg are lobby-wide events. See prices on the catalog.
Mode notes
Viral Infection wants you to create more sharks, not solo-carry. Pass the Bomb is a survivor problem until a boat dies and dumps food. Oil Rig and Shark Cage are vertical snack bars — smash structure, then bite. Extraction is a late helicopter camp; leave one survivor alive as bait if you can control the pickup. Details sit in game modes.
After the round
If you wiped, bank the Teeth toward the next species or power. If you died early, watch who killed you and what gun they held — the weapon catalog tells you whether you face hitscan spray or rockets. Then go back to surviving with how to survive so you understand the camera you were just hiding from.
Official patch notes for new powers appear on the updates hub. This wiki is unofficial.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for SharkBite 2 rounds, codes, and shop spends.
Why can’t I eat a player who is touching my face?
Bite hitboxes are fussy, especially on huge sharks. Re-angle, boost through, or break their platform first.
Should I buy Megalodon first?
No. Learn Great White and Hammerhead. Meg is tanky and slow to turn; public lobbies focus-fire it.
What does the blue propeller mean?
A moving survivor boat. Red rhombi are players in the water. Chase isolated icons.
Do shark skins change stats?
No. Species and powers change stats. Skins are cosmetic.
