How to Survive in SharkBite 2
Stop feeding the shark: vision, crew size, and when to abandon the hull.
Most SharkBite 2 deaths are not “the shark is too strong.” They are vision deaths. You drive on the surface, never tilt the camera, and learn the shark exists when the hull already folds. This playbook is for survivors who want the timer to end with them still dry.
If you have not finished onboarding, read getting started first. If you want to delete the shark instead of hiding, jump to how to kill the shark after this page.
See the shark before it sees you
The in-world map and the propeller ping are late. Dip the camera under the waterline every few seconds. A grey body or a wake under your bow is your real radar. On mobile, pinch-zoom out so the underside of the boat is visible. Players who only watch the horizon eat rams they could have turned away from.
The shark sees moving boats as blue propeller icons and swimmers as red rhombi. Sitting still in a hidden cove can drop you off a sloppy shark’s mental list. Sitting still in open water against a Radar power user is suicide. Learn which shark you are facing from the shark catalog — Mako players roam, Meg players commit.
Crew size is a survival stat
One driver plus one gunner is the sweet spot. The driver watches water and islands. The gunner tracks the shark and calls turns. A third rider on a small boat blocks camera and steals seats. A full Cruise Ship is a piñata.
Invite from the boat UI before the head start ends. If you are a passenger, do not grab the wheel unless the driver is AFK. Fight over steering is how jet skis beach themselves. Controls lists the passenger camera and shoot binds.
Pick a boat that can refuse a fight
Speed and agility beat hit points for most public lobbies. Green Jetski, Hover Bike, Viper, Marlin, and Wildfire exist to leave. Canal Boat and Titanic exist to look expensive. Check the boat tier list and boat compare before you pride-lock a 100,000 Teeth wall.
If you only own free hulls, drive the Ducky or Fishing Boat like a coward: wide circles, island shadows, never a straight line across the map center. Save Teeth with codes and the Teeth guide until a jet ski is realistic.
Islands, mines, and broken hulls
Islands are not win conditions. They are corners you use to break line of sight and to step off a dying boat. Beaching a slow yacht on purpose can work if the shark cannot climb your rock and your gunner still has angle. Beaching a jet ski usually just strands you.
Sea mines punish sharks who ram blindly. Learn the common mine fields on the maps page. Do not farm them with your own bow.
When the hull is gone, swim to the nearest solid object or teammate platform. Swimming in open water paints a red icon. The shark is faster than you. Extraction and Oil Rig change this rule — read game modes so you do not treat every lobby like Standard.
Weapons while running
You do not need Shark Blaster to live. You need something you can fire without parking. Thompson and Shark Blaster forgive movement. Harpoon and Rocket want a stable deck. If you are solo, pick the forgiving gun from the weapon tier list. If you have a dedicated gunner, let them hold the burst weapon.
Reload behind an island, not on the shark’s nose. A reload animation is a dinner bell.
Mentality
You do not have to kill the shark to win Standard. Living is enough. Ego chases — turning back to “finish it” with 10% hull — are how highlight reels get made for the other team. Bank the 100 Teeth, buy the next upgrade, and queue again.
The video in the middle of this page is a survivor-focused session, not a boat review. Use it to watch camera height and pathing, then come back to the Guides Hub for the shark-side mirror.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for SharkBite 2 rounds, codes, and shop spends.
Should I hide on an island the whole round?
Only if the shark is committed elsewhere. A patient shark with Radar will find campers. Mix cover with movement.
Is swimming ever correct?
Yes, as a transfer between a wreck and a rock or teammate. No, as a plan to outrun the shark.
What boat should poor survivors use?
The most agile free or cheap hull you own. Jet skis at 800 Teeth beat pretty 10,000 party boats for living.
Does standing still hide me?
It can hide a propeller icon from a casual shark. Powers like Radar and a dipped camera still find you.
